Installation
kumo comes two ways: as a plugin inside the Unreal editor, and as a desktop app that opens your project wiki and the chat in their own window, with or without Unreal installed. Use either, or both.
Desktop app

Plugin: from the Fab Marketplace
Section titled “Plugin: from the Fab Marketplace”-
Purchase kumo from the Fab Marketplace.

Open the Epic Games Launcher, go to Library → Fab Library, and find kumo.

Click Install to Engine and select your UE 5.7 or 5.8 installation.

Open your project, go to Edit → Plugins, search for kumo, and enable it.

Restart the editor. kumo runs
setup.pyautomatically on first launch and installs the Claude skill.
Plugin: from source
Section titled “Plugin: from source”-
Clone or copy the
Kumofolder into your project’sPlugins/directory. -
Run the third-party setup script once before building:

third-party.json. -
Enable the plugin in Edit → Plugins → kumo.

Restart the editor.
Running setup manually

Section titled “Verifying the installation”Open a terminal in your project root and run:
python Plugins/Kumo/Scripts/cli.py schemaYou should see a list of all registered operations. If the output is empty or an error appears, check that PythonScriptPlugin and EditorScriptingUtilities are enabled.
